What is Google Analytics? Are you losing your website traffic day by day. Don’t worry, today we will increase traffic to your website using some easy methods.
Today in this article we will discuss how you can use Google Analytics for seo to increase your traffic.
Traffic By Google Analytics
Google Analytics has dozens and dozens of reports, but as an SEO, what reports should you look at?
Hey everyone, today I am going to break down the basic reports you should see as SEO.
The first thing that everyone wants to know if you are SEO is your conversion rate, if you have a goal tracking setup in place, great if you don’t have any worries, you can always set it up, but All you do is to the left you click on conversions, you click overview and boom you can see your conversions that you are tracking or you cannot do tracking.
I don’t have any goals right now because I make this goal just for you. After a week you can see an increase in the number.
And I recommend setting it up and you can see what is changing, what is being converted by the channel, what is working, what is not, here is an example of goal completion, that is the idea, Hey, what is working, what is not, what pages are what you need and fixing that is great for SEO.
But what most people are not looking for and this is where I will start within your Google Analytics account is your week-long results.
Check Real Time Overview
So here’s what I mean, right? So if I click on a real-time overview, you will correct everything by seeing how many people are coming to my website. Right now I have only one visitors.
If I have finished clicking the home button, you will see a screen like this, in which the combination of real-time and your traffic will be higher week-by-week, and you want to see how you can get through the week Are doing – week.
And don’t just look at it as pure traffic, but look at it with country-specific crackerjack or SEO-specific types of traffic, and here’s what I mean by that.
So I get to travel around the world. Just because I’m assuming that your website is only in English or in many languages like mine, you can still get traffic all over the world.
For example, in English, there are people on my site who come from the UK or US or from India, for example Canada or Australia.
Now my agency, Culturelligence pvt. ltd, does not currently have offices in all those countries. So, for example, if we get more UK traffic, although I like it and eventually we will expand there, it doesn’t really help us.
Eyes On Audience Overview
So one thing that I like is how I am growing or not growing week-by-week in the specific areas that I am targeting.
So I’m going to compare March 24 to March 30 as you can see, I’m getting more traffic, 1.12% so not too bad, but if I scroll down and I look at the country under demographics Click on, you can see, all right united states, great, I am getting more traffic, this is one of the main areas that I want more traffic .
And then I will go back, change the dates of March 11 which I had chosen to compare and then I will click on the fourth, right? So I just go upstairs. I want to see how I’m trending 6% more traffic in the United States, a bit more traffic, not too much.
And I’ll go and do that and I’ll start that specific day, week by week. And you will see a trend here, below 5.18%, right? In United States traffic, even though total traffic in the United States is increase 9% to 17%, but down again in the India? And I’m going back and you’ll notice that in the last 30 days, I’m starting to lose more and more traffic from the India.
Now, at first you can freak and you’re like, wait, what, this, is something going wrong? Because what most marketers do is they just look at the total traffic and they are not looking at the total traffic that they can convert or qualify traffic.
O I am getting more traffic from United state, we work in US, so it is great but Isil generated more currency exchange income from the India. So I want to focus on the areas that are making me the most right?
Which in this case would be in the United States, I am not saying that other countries are not amazing. I am saying that this happens where we generate more revenue than the United States.
If you have multiple Google Analytics properties, which I do, and if you don’t, you should talk with other members of your community.
Two Website Comparison
This is one of the big things that people should do. They can go to other sites or talk to other people and see how they are doing week-by-week. So here I am comparing my site on 30 March vs 10 February. I’m going to do the same thing for Agile PeopleOps in which I click the compare button in the date range.
Let’s see if I clicked from February 11 to February 18, you want to make sure it’s on the same day, week-by-week. So if it is Thursday, then younger than Thursday. And if you look at the United States, 5% down, 6% for me, both sites.
When I do this for Agile Peopleops and I compare, you also know from the 10Feb to the 30Feb, just 12% , In India, down 13%, make sure it’s for a lot of sites Used to be.
And I know that some other players in the marketing niche are not direct competitors, some are just software solutions or others are just blogs in the field that only provide free information.
But by asking and comparing people that this is the first time that you should see how you are growing week-to-week, because it is misleading. If you look at Culturelligence here, you see the total number of users increasing, which is great, but if I’m missing traffic in the core area that I care about, most of the margin, Hey, we’re 12%, well, you’re down in the main area that gives you money, so that’s the kind that matters.
Check Campaign Overview
The next thing I want to see you is your overall search traffic. And I want you to do it in two ways. So the first is that I want you to just go to acquisition campaigns, organic keywords, and you can see how your search traffic is moving again on a regular basis.
And the higher it goes, the better it goes. And I recommend looking at it over time and expanding it. So let’s say, check it out for the last three plus months, I recommend you look at the last year or so.
And you just want to make sure that you are growing overall which seems very healthy in a positive direction, but as you scroll down and I want to serve this purpose and I have done a lot of dates or a long Date range added because you can see a lot of junk traffic there, it’s not really search traffic.
So one more thing that I suggest people do is go to the search console and see how you are performing within the search console.
So suppose I do the final 12 months because as I mentioned I recommend that you check the previous year and you can see it, as I showed in analytics. It is growing, which is good, the search console tends to divert that junk bot traffic.
But I also advise you to filter by country, so you click on New, click on Country, and you click on the United States or any country you are targeting. The list that is usually ordered is at the top, where you get the most of your search traffic, as you go down the list and decrease. As you can see, traffic for the rest of the year in my United States either went up, but it was during that time that COVID was really booming or coming around earlier.
So it was during that down period, if I expanded a bit more, you can see that during that COVID period, I started reducing traffic a little bit, and I’m increasing it a little bit, so that you Finish looking, but yes, so it’s a little better then COVID. Then once everyone started working from the home traffic boom, it started flattening out, going up and leveling out again.
I think some of my reasons as to why it has declined are related to the industry and some of it is not really seasonal, but to quote, the external factors that I think of many people living at home due to coronavirus Can’t control it like that.
So are some of those reports that are at first sight. Another report I like is real time. And if you have enough time traffic, you can click on real-time content then you can see where most people are spending their time.
Another report I like is that as an SEO you have overall traffic, if it is coming from desktop or mobile.
Because if you are monetizing your traffic and you have elements for conversion optimization, then you need to check to make sure that you are doing it for all mobile content as well.
Because I had conversion optimization elements on my mobile site but then when I was looking at my real time, I realized that most people are actually looking at my amp pages, look at it, slash the amp, amp Slash.
And I haven’t really been able to monetize my amp pages because here is what they look like. I’m going to pull up, this is my desktop device, but I can show you what it looks like by just inserting a slash prompt at the end of my URL.
So I wasn’t really making a lot of money from my mobile traffic, even though it was coming from the United States. And from that, I came to know that, hey, I should put some top bar to monetize, so I put that call into action sliding with me and I put one at the bottom, and that says more traffic Click to get and if someone clicks it just takes them to my consultation page.
But I did so and I started generating more conversions from mobile, especially my mobile SEO traffic.
But those are some of the places I would start with your Google Analytics conversion. If you don’t have that set up, everyone should be set up in advance. I suggest you set it up.
And then the rest of you can investigate and start looking at some of those reports. As a marketer and SEO the really big checkout is week-over-week, and especially how you are doing week-over-week during the same day, and how you are doing it, you will compare , Let’s say Thursday, and you see it based on regional-based traffic, where you’re making your money.
