Using WordPress Block Editor add Images Side by Side
The WordPress block editor is a great way to create engaging content. You can use it to create your blog posts and galleries, but it’s especially useful for displaying images.
The ‘Gallery’ block displays images in rows and columns, which makes it easy to side by side your images without losing any quality.
First, create a new blog post or edit an existing blog post, then you can see this + button click on this and find the Gallery option.
You can now easily add images to your gallery block by dragging them in or using the Upload button. Images from your WordPress media library can also be used.
Now click on the media library or you can upload new images. Then you can click on any two images or you can add more than two.
We’ve added three images side by side to our Gallery block, as you can see. WordPress has automatically positioned them next to each other.
You can specify how many images WordPress should display side by side in a single column.
First, if it isn’t already selected, click on the Gallery block. The Gallery’s block settings can be found on the right side of the screen.
You can change the number of columns in this section to any number. For example, if you want two images next to each other and two more beneath them, set the Columns to 2.
That’s all there is to it!
To change the position of an image in your gallery, simply click on it. You’ll then see arrows in the gallery that you can use to move it forward or backward.
Using Plugin add Images Side by Side In WordPress Blog
If you’re using the old classic WordPress editor, or if you want to create more complex galleries than the default Gallery block, a WordPress gallery plugin is required.
Envira Gallery is the best WordPress gallery plugin, and we recommend it.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we will be using the free version of Envira, but you may want to upgrade to the Pro version to gain access to more powerful features such as albums, image slideshows, and so on.
You must first install and activate the Envira Gallery plugin. If you’re unsure, simply follow our step-by-step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.
Then, in your WordPress blog post, navigate to the + button then select Envira Gallery.
Now you can start uploading images side by side using Envira Gallery.
You can see here I added 4 Images of how it looks using Envira Gallery. If you want to add more you can multiple images.
Now if you want to adjust these images like height, margin, and etc. You can adjust using this plugin option that is shown in the sidebar.
If you want to add more images to your gallery, go back to it in your WordPress dashboard by clicking Envira Gallery » All Galleries. To edit your gallery, simply click on its name.
Any changes you make to your gallery will be reflected in the posts, pages, or sidebars where you’ve placed it. You don’t need to include it again.
You can still use Envira Gallery if you use the classic editor instead of the block editor.
Above the classic editor, you’ll see an ‘Add Gallery’ button that you can use to add an existing gallery to your post.
