What is Google Analytics? Google Analytics is a tool through which you can monitor the movement on your website.
Like your visitors, how many people are coming, how much time they keep on your website, which pages are most liked by people and how much time they are spending there. You can know all this through Google Analytics.
Google has not used this tool to monitor your website for ranking, this tool is for website owners to track the performance of your website.
This tool helps you determine the source of your traffic, you can set your goals here and then monitor your goals.
How Does Google Analytics Works
Google Analytics collects all data from various sources to your website using an analytic code. You will need to install a tracking code in your website head section.
Using this code, Google monitors every activity your website performs. Like your traffic source it is an organic or social media, mobile or desktop, male or female, all country traffic data, conversion rate, bounce rate and many more.
Therefore, when creating your website, you must install Google Analytics on your website. With this you will also know how long your website or blog is growing.
How To Add Google Analytics To WordPress.
Go to Google and type in Google Analytics or you can click here also Sign up with Analytics using your Google Accounts now.
After signing up you can see this welcome page. Click on start measuring.
Now they will ask you to go ahead for your account details, add your account name, then another setting will remain the same and click on the next.
Now add your property name. Here you can add your website name or your name and then choose your time zone and currency. Click on next.
Write about your website or business information, such as your industry category, size of business, and your intention to use Google Analytics, then click on Create Account.
When you click on create an account, they will show you popups that will accept the terms and conditions. Now select your country and click accept.
After accepting the terms and conditions, it will redirect you to the next popup i.e. email communication. You don’t have to do anything from here just click save.
Now your account has been successful, you can see the main analytics window, click on your platform website option from here.
Then add your website URL in the next window and the name of your stream, you can add anything to the stream then click on the create stream.
You can see the web stream details here. Now come to the tagging instructions. From here you can connect to analytics using any one global site tag or Google Tag Manager.
We will use the global site tag code from here and then add it to the head section of our website.
After adding that code in your head tag in your website after a few days or time, Google will grab all the data then you can see the performance of your website.
Google Analytics For Beginners
Now after successfully creating an account, today we will discuss other functionality and how to use analytics for your website.
With this customization, you can create a report for your client about how the website is performing, click Custom Report, and then click New Custom Report from here.
After clicking on the new custom report, give your title here and then click on the add metric Now from here you can add details of acquisition, advertising, behavior, social and users.
You can add another metric from here and add new filters to create a proper report for your customers.
In real time you can see your active live users on which page they are now reading, traffic sources, location, how much time they are spending and interacting.
Audience Overview :
You can see your active and new users by using Audience Overview. From here you can see the number of page views, average reading time, bounce rate, new and returning visitors. And you can also see which date and what month data you want to see.
In acquisition you can monitor all your traffic sources if it is direct, organic or social.
With this primary dimension you can check all your traffic channels and if you have set a goal, then check your goals to see how the performance is.
If you are using Google Ads for your website business, here you can monitor your ad performance, whether it is working for you or not.
You can also monitor your search console data and performance from here.
With social you can see your landing page, how it is performing, your conversions, user flow and network referrals.
Behavior section You can check the behavior of the audience, your page views, unique page views, bounce rate, why they are exit using it you can improve the pages and website
If you click on site content you can see that all pages click on it. Now from here check all your pages to see how much time users are spending there, page views, bounce rate and more.
If your page views very little and the bounce rate is increasing, then you should work on that page to improve their content on the page from which they exit that page.
Check your page speed From here they will give you a suggestion as to why your page speed is slow. Explore another functionality form behavior.
Goals : In conversions you can set your goals that you want to achieve then you can monitor by week whether you are achieving that goal or not.
